Most ID photos come down to two things: an exact size in millimetres or inches, and enough pixels to print it sharply. This handles both, then arranges copies on a page you can cut up.
Lay the crop out across an A4 or US Letter page with cutting guides around every copy, then print at 100% and cut along the lines.
Cropping, the background fill and the print sheet all happen in your browser. Your face never reaches a server, and there is no account, watermark or limit.
Frequently asked questions
Will a photo from this tool be accepted where I am applying?
We cannot promise that. This tool crops a picture to the measurements you choose and works out the pixel size; it does not check any office's rules, and it does not measure your head or your face. Rules differ by country and change over time, so read the ones published by whoever asked you for the photo, then judge the framing and the picture itself yourself.
What do the oval and the lines over the preview mean?
They are positioning help only: a rough middle, a line near the top and a line near the bottom so you can see how your head sits in the frame while you drag and zoom. They are a drawing aid, not a measurement, and they are not saved into the downloaded photo.
Which size should I choose?
Sizes here are named by measurement alone. 2 x 2 in is a square commonly asked for in the United States and India, and 35 x 45 mm is an upright size commonly asked for in the UK, across Europe, and in Australia and New Zealand. If the form you are filling in gives a measurement that is not listed, choose Custom size and type it in.
Does the background fill remove the wall behind me?
No. The background fill paints a solid colour behind your picture, so it shows only where the picture is see-through, such as a PNG with a cut-out. The wall in your photo stays exactly as it was. For a plain background, take the photo against a plain, evenly lit wall. If you need the subject cut out of the picture, our Background Remover does that job first.
What print resolution should I use?
300 DPI is the usual choice and what most photo printers and print shops expect. 600 DPI doubles the detail and the file size, which only helps on a good photo printer. 150 or 200 DPI make smaller files that are fine on a screen but can look soft on paper.
How do I print the sheet at the right size?
Download the sheet, open it, and turn off any fit to page or scale to fit setting so it prints at 100%. Use the paper you chose, A4 or US Letter, and cut along the guide lines drawn around each copy. If the printed photos measure wrong, scaling was still switched on.
