Frequently asked questions
Is my invoice stored online?
No. Everything you type stays in the page, and the PDF is assembled in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server and nothing is saved to your device, so closing the tab clears the invoice completely. Download the PDF, and keep your own copy for your records.
How is the tax worked out?
The discount comes off the subtotal first, then the tax rate is applied to what is left, and shipping is added afterwards. Shipping is not taxed unless you switch on “Tax the shipping too”, because whether it is taxable depends on where you are.
Does this make my invoice legally compliant?
No, and it cannot. Invoice requirements differ by country and often by the kind of business: a tax number, a particular wording, sequential numbering or a specific tax breakdown may be required. This produces a clear, ordinary invoice. Check what your own tax authority expects, and take advice if you are unsure.
Is this an accounting system?
No. It makes one invoice at a time. It does not track what has been paid, chase overdue accounts, keep a customer list or file anything for you. If you need that, you want proper accounting software; this is for getting a good invoice out quickly.
Why can I only add a PNG or JPG logo?
Those are the two image formats that can be placed inside a PDF directly. If your logo is an SVG or another format, convert it first with the Image Converter and then add it here.
