Frequently asked questions
How do I convert kg to lbs?
Multiply the kilograms by 2.2046226. For example, 70 kg is about 154.32 lb. Choose Weight, pick kg on the left and lb on the right and type the number, or use the kg to lb shortcut.
How many centimeters are in an inch?
Exactly 2.54. The inch has been defined as 25.4 millimeters since 1959, so to change inches to centimeters you multiply by 2.54, and to change centimeters to inches you divide by 2.54.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Multiply by 9/5 and add 32, so 20 °C is 68 °F. To go back, subtract 32 and multiply by 5/9. The two scales meet at -40, where both read the same.
Why are US and UK gallons different?
The US gallon is 3.785 liters and the imperial (UK) gallon is 4.546 liters, about 20% larger. Pints, quarts and fluid ounces differ in the same way, so this tool lists both and labels them.
Why do MB and MiB give different numbers?
Storage is counted two ways. Drive makers and networks use decimal units (1 GB = 1,000 MB), while many operating systems count in binary (1 GiB = 1,024 MiB). Both are listed, so choose the one your source uses.
How accurate are the results?
The conversion factors are the exact international definitions, such as 1 lb = 0.45359237 kg. Results show up to 8 significant digits, or a fixed number of decimal places if you choose one. Months and years use their calendar averages.
